The program will develop prevention science professionals who will:

  • Proceed to further positions in academia, research organizations, government agencies or the healthcare field;
  • Provide leadership in the evaluation and research design industry, academia and/or governmental agency;
  • Contribute to the generation of new knowledge in the prevention science area;
  • Positively impact the education of new prevention science professionals.

 

Student goals:

  • Learn and retain advanced knowledge in key areas of content related to prevention science;
  • Demonstrate the ability to design, implement and defend detailed studies to generate new knowledge in the area of prevention science;
  • Develop the expertise to prepare and deliver logical and convincing oral and written communications relating to prevention science;
  • Have the ability to critically evaluate research findings and associated documents related to prevention science.
